Reindeer Tree Ornament

It's time to think about decorating the tree for the Holidays. Nothing makes it more special than hanging your own, hand made, ornaments.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Paper Card Stock
  • Light Brown Felt
  • Pink Felt
  • Colored Pipe Cleaner or Chenille, 10"
  • Tacky Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Red Pom Pom
  • Craft Eyes
  • Jingle Bell
Fold a piece of Paper Card Stock in half and then fold in half again. Cut a pattern that looks like this.

You can click on the picture above to get a full size printable pattern from our web page.
Unfold the pattern and trace it onto a piece of brown felt. You can fold the felt in half and then fold it in half again to cut it like the original pattern but we found this to be more difficult.
Cut out the felt.
Transfer the Ear pattern onto the pink felt and cut out.
Thread a Bell through the Pipe Cleaner or Chenille and fold in half.
Cut a piece of ribbon 12" long. Tie the ends together in a bow.
Spread glue on one half of the Deer Head.
Place the Pipe Cleaner and Bell onto the Deer Head with the Bell at the bottom and the Pipe Cleaner sticking through the hole at the top. Place the untied end of the ribbon into the glue between the Pipe Cleaner.
Add more glue to over the Pipe Cleaner and Ribbon.
Fold the Deer Head in half and press together. You may want to place a weight on top until it dries.
Make a small bow or purchase a pre made one at the craft store.
Glue the small bow, craft eyes, ears and Pom Pom Nose onto your ornament.

After it dries hang it on your tree along with a gazillion more that you can make.

Invite your family to help to make it a really fun project.
